I'm her best friend

This takes place sometime after the events of "Trouble in Paradise" [link]

Simba just want to make sure Tama knows who's Nala's best friend. Tama probably knows that but it doesn't make his bragging any less annoying and maybe a bit hurtful. Simba's such a sweet cub, isn't he? lol

My two favorite Lion king characters don't get along very well, so sad.
