Dad, I just wanted to be brave like you

Here's a little story to go with it:

"Kion had just got back from picking a fight with a hyena cub. Simba was a bit angry, and decided to teach his son a lesson like his father did for him. The young prince was finally allowed to go on his own and explore the Pride Lands. Simba, who realized that he was a bit too overprotective with Kiara decided to let kion explore on his own.

Simba: Kion, before you go I have to tell you something my father told me. Being brave doesn't mean you go looking for trouble. What he didn't tell me was that if you love something, you protect it. There's a legend of previous kings who had special friends that, when needed, saved the Pride Lands from disaster. They were counted on when Pride Rock was at its most vulnerable. It's a dangerous world out there, but with them there was stability in the savannah. This is the legend of The Lion Guard.

Kion wandered off, searching for what he needed.

Kion: The hyenas are building an army, they intend on killing everything in Pride Rock as revenge. I want to stop them but I can't do it alone.

In the distance he sees this cheetah. Kion walks up to her she says "my name is Fuli. I know what you are trying to do. I have friends who are on my side, but we need a leader."

Kion: I can be that leader, and I know exactly what we can call ourselves...."

I really like how this turned out, first time I draw an adult Simba that I'm happy with. I'm fine with cub Simba but for some reason adult Simba always give me trouble XD. I'm also trying not to rely to much on textures for my backgrounds, this one was done entirely with regular brushes, not a single texture was used here.

BTW since this story takes place before The Lion Guard, Kion doesn't have his paw mark or lion tattoo yet.
